How It Sounds
Analog Synths
Sampled from a vintage Mini Moog, presets are raw and foundational with an analog flare. These sounds push the boundaries of what is possible with the Mini Moog incorporating pedal effects, complex filter modulations and LFOs
Organic Textures
Made with granular and spectral sampling, frequency modulation synthesis and more. An acoustic sound is recorded and manipulated into a playable tone while maintaining the character of the original sound source.
How it works
To capture live character, all sound sources are from acoustic instruments, recorded at 48 kHz, to bring a natural element to the sound that cannot be created with samples or soft synths. Live world instruments with human performances translate into these samples providing an extra level of nuance. When every track counts in your work, you can only accept the highest of quality for each sound.
To ensure expressiveness with each patch, the mod wheel works to drastically change the sound, crossfading between layers of dry and effected audio. The mod wheel can be moved during a performance to add expression to the part or set before recording at the perfect point.
To promote playability and versatility, Sardonyx patches are deeply multi-sampled with each note carrying its own characteristics. To push this further, patches contain multiple round robins to make repeated notes sound unique.
The Interface
The UI is simple, and straightforward. With only five controls, it is great for beginners and pros. The limited knobs promote a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of tweaking a plugin and yield more tasteful results. These Bauhaus style sliders are layered over a rock-like texture background. The title of the plugin, Sardonyx, is a gemstone known for is multilayered look and durability, the prominent characteristics of this library. Sardonyx has been used in the past by the Romans during battle and to seal wax stamp letters.
